DanceSport National Championship Event has moved from Canberra to Wollongong!

Since 1993 Canberra has been the midwinter mecca for Australian DanceSport competitors. Commencing this year, however – over the weekend of 24-25 June – this glittering dance extravaganza is moving to the beautiful beach city of Wollongong.

DANCE Wollongong is sponsored by Mercedes and taking place in the WIN Entertainment Centre, an amazing sporting and events venue. It has state-of-the-art facilities for both competitors and spectators alike, is situated right near the beach, and excellent accommodation and restaurants are just a 5-minute walk.

The superb facilities of the WIN Entertainment Centre will be enhanced with top quality audio equipment.

Wollongong (aka ‘The Gong’) is a beautiful seaside city situated on the coast in the Illawarra region of NSW just 82k south of Sydney. It boasts glorious beaches, including Wollongong and Wattamolla, and magnificent parks and gardens, including the city’s Botanic Garden. For the kids there’s Jamberoo Action Park, with many fun and sporting activities.

This midwinter national championship event is renowned for its excellent organisation, meticulous attention to detail and satisfied competitors, officials and spectators. The event has gained a reputation as one of the premier DanceSport championships in Australia, and this will only be further enhanced in its new home in Wollongong.
